Biography

Charles Lingerfelt was born in Tennessee and lives in Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree from Lee University. Lingerfelt's career experience includes working as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.[2]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Eddie Bernice Johnson (D) defeated Charles Lingerfelt (R), Jarrett Woods (L), and Thom Prentice (G) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Johnson defeated Barbara Mallory Caraway and Brandon Vance in the Democratic primary on March 1, 2016, while Lingerfelt faced no opposition in the Republican primary.[3][4]
