Charles Malone (North Carolina)
Charles Malone was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 13th Congressional District of North Carolina.[1] Malone defeated Bernard A. Holliday in the Democratic primary on May 8, 2012.[2]
Malone was defeated by Republican candidate George E.B. Holding on November 6, 2012.[3]

Malone ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent North Carolina's 13th District. Malone won the nomination on the Democratic ticket after defeating Bernard A. Holliday in the primary.[2] The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was February 29, 2012.
Malone won the primary after previously announcing he was dropping out of the race.
The Washington Post listed the House of Representatives elections in North Carolina in 2012 as one of the states that could have determined whether Democrats retook the House or Republicans held their majority in 2013.[4] North Carolina was rated 8th on the list.[4]

Malone was defeated in the November 2 general election by incumbent Neal Hunt (R).[6]
