Charles Orr is the District 5 representative on the Tuscaloosa County Board of Education in Alabama. He was first appointed to the board on March 28, 2016, to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Mark Nelson. Orr won a full term in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]

Two of the seven seats on the Tuscaloosa County School System school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. A primary election was held on March 1, 2016.

District 5 incumbent Charles Orr (R) and District 6 incumbent Joe Boteler (R) filed for re-election. Orr was appointed to the board after the primary to replace Mark Nelson (R), while Boteler faced challenger Randy Smalley (R) in the primary. Smalley defeated Boteler to win the District 6 Republican nomination. Orr and Smalley won without opposition in the general election.[2]
