Charles Poe

Charles N. Poe was a judge for the magistrate court in Mercer County, West Virginia.[1]
Poe ran for re-election in 2016.[2] Charles Poe won the general election on May 10, 2016.
Poe resigned from the court on March 12, 2021 following the state Judicial Investigation Commission's investigation after an ethics complaint was made against him.[3]

West Virginia held general elections for county judicial offices on May 10, 2016. This date coincided with partisan primaries for statewide and federal offices. The 2016 election was the first nonpartisan election for the state's judicial seats since statehood in 1863. Learn more about this change here. Incumbent Charles Poe defeated Michael Burnopp, Pam Sizemore-Plumley, Max Morris and Helen Phillips defeated in the general election for the Mercer County Magistrate Court Division 4 seat.[2]
