Charles Porter (Louisiana)
Charles Porter was a judge of the 16th Judicial District Division G in Louisiana. He was elected to this position on October 16, 1993, and he was re-elected in 1996, 2002 and 2008. His most recent term expired on December 31, 2014.[1][2]
Education
Porter received his B.A. degree in political science from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, he graduated with a J.D. degree from Southern University Law School in 1976.[1]
Career
Porter worked as a trial lawyer (of both criminal and civil cases) until he was elected to the district court in 1993. He served as the chief judge of the 16th Judicial District in 1999.[1]
