Charles Uphoff represented Area II on the Oregon School District school board in Wisconsin. His term on the board expired in April 2017, as he did not file to run for re-election.[1]

Uphoff was an unsuccessful 2012 Democratic candidate for District 80 of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Uphoff ran in the 2012 election for Wisconsin State Assembly District 80. He was defeated by Sondy Pope-Roberts in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2]

The Oregon School District is located in south-central Wisconsin in Dane County. The county seat is Madison. Dane County was home to an estimated 523,643 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[3] The district was the 50th-largest school district in the state in the 2014–2015 school year and served 3,828 students.[4]

Higher education achievement

Dane County outperformed Wisconsin as a whole in terms of higher education achievement between 2011 and 2015. The United States Census Bureau found that 47.9 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 27.8 percent of state residents.[3]

From 2011 to 2015, the median household income in the county was $62,865, compared to $53,357 for the state of Wisconsin.[3] During that same period, the median household income for the entire United States was $53,889.[3]
