Charles Wood (New York)

Charles D. Wood is a justice of the Supreme Court, 9th Judicial District in New York. He was elected to this position on November 3, 2009 and took office in January of 2010. He was assigned to Westchester County in January of 2012 and, since January of 2013, he has served as the Supervising Judge of the Westchester County Matrimonial Part.[1][2][3][4]
Biography
Wood received his B.A. degree from Vassar College in 1991 and his J.D. degree from the New York Law School in 1994.[2]
Wood began his career in 1995 as a sole practitioner in Yonkers, NY. In 1997, he left this position to work as an associate attorney for the law firm of Banks, Curran, Keefe & Spolzino, LLP. In 1999, he became Counsel to state Senator Nicholas A. Spano (35th District). He worked in that capacity through 2005. He also worked as a sole practitioner again from 2001 to 2005. He became a judge of the Yonkers City Court in 2006. He then joined the Supreme Court in 2010.[2]
