Charlie Brown (Republican Party) ran for election to the Montana State Senate to represent District 9. Brown lost in the Republican primary on June 5, 2018.

Brown was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 17 of the Montana House of Representatives.

Biography

Brown graduated from Great Falls High School in 1977. He received a B.A. in social studies and health and public education from Concordia College in 1981 and an M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Idaho in 2004. Brown received an administrative endorsement from the University of Montana in 2011 and he began working as a teacher and coach at Fairfield High School in 1991. Brown was the alderman for the Town of Fairfield in 2008 and 2010.[1]

Almost anything historical, with my degree in history and government it is a natural fit[10]
What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature?
The government is s 3 headed entity, each with their own responsibilities, the ability to communicate to each other is important, but there will always be issues if both are of different parties.[10]

Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after?
I know this is a bit cliche but and I know he was a Democrat, but Mike Mansfield, he seemed such a gentleman and my mom was a such staunch Republican but she admired him. I was able to meet him a couple of times he just seemed a genuine person.[10]
Are you interested in running for a different political office in the future?
No-not at this time.[10]
