My name is Charlie Gaddis. I want to represent you in the 7th Ohio Congressional District.

I was born and raised in the 7th district. I am an Eagle Scout from Sharon Troop 511. I graduated from Highland High School. I married my college sweetheart from Wittenberg University. I am a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Managerial Accountant, and have a Masters in Business Administration. I have three children; my two girls are grown and out of the house, and my son currently attends Archbishop Hoban Highschool.

I have a nice life. However, none of this is a reason you trust me to represent you.

Far too often, politicians expect our support merely do to their party. I am a Democrat. I am a Republican. Of course, you need to pick a party in our two-party system. So I will be running in the Republican Party as a "Classic" Liberal. Words change meaning over time. In 1776, every American was a Liberal, as in "Liberty."
  • Taxation – move away from taxing productivity, hidden taxes, and favoring foreign competitors. I am for every citizen receiving 100% of what they earn and a fair tax system.
  • Fiscal Responsibility – In the time of trillion-dollar spending sprees and a $30 trillion deficit, fiscal responsibility seems like an ancient principle. The problem is how we budget, all or nothing—no room for robust debate. There is a better and more logical approach.
  • Education – Most of us are fortunate to have access to good schools, but there is no reason to be stuck in the educational monopoly if you were in a poor system. There are so many options on how to teach children. Give parents a choice where to spend their educational dollar.
The economy is what I am most passionate about. Inflation is one of my biggest peeves especially when it is caused by bad leadership, excessive spending, and destructive regulation. You might call me the Inflation Terminator.
At one time, the House controlled the purse strings. It has since relinquished those purse strings to the Senate. The House needs to regain control of the purse strings through a rolling budget process.

I believe it is beneficial for representatives to have experience living and working like the citizens they represent. I believe far too many politicians forgot what it means to earn a living.
The United States' greatest challenge is our addiction to spending. We have no self-control. in the last two years fighting COVID we have spent over 7 trillion dollars. 3.5 trillion was spent by President Trump and 3.5 trillion was spent by President Biden after the vaccine had been developed. Today we now suffer from skyrocketing inflation caused by too much spending.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury"
Two years is enough for the public to see how the politician is going to represent them
I support term limits. I believe that congress is for citizens to serve; it is not a career. Term limits would reduce the influence of money. I would draft a bill that would limit the Senate to two terms or twelve years, the house to six terms or twelve years, and the supreme court to 30years.
No, I believe that common sense is necessary and desirable for policymaking. Compromise [ar too often result in both sides spending more than they should.
As the Inflation Terminator, Taxation and Fiscal Responsibility are the most important issues to me. Bills should be small and principled. Large omnibus bills are the playground of wasteful spending.
