A seventh-generation Texan, with a passion for helping others and the role of government in social good, Charlie is a leader in economic development and business, an advocate for working families, and a voice for change.

At age 61, he has witnessed how government can be used for good - or bad. He grew up in Victoria, before moving to Baytown where he graduated high school. Along the way learned Texas values of fairness, neighborliness, and support for one another.

He worked as a steelworker while attending junior college when the local congressman, Bob Eckhardt, visited his class. Soon, Charlie found himself working on Capitol Hill for the Energy and Commerce Committee until returning to Austin to earn a degree in Government at The University of Texas.

Jackson's first career was leading economic development projects and chambers of commerce and working first-hand with small businesses of every type. He returned to Austin in 1990 to join the tech scene, adding an MS degree in Technology. Charlie later managed IT projects for international companies including Dell, IBM, Ford, and Philips, and launched his own startups. He currently runs a consulting practice and spends time traveling throughout Texas from Corpus Christi.

  • Ensuring that all Texans share in economic growth, have access to healthcare, good education, and have hope for the future.
  • Planning for the impacts of climate change and ensuring that the Texas coast is prepared for its impacts.
  • Working with fellow members of Congress to find practical solutions to issues that affect real people.
Like many Americans, Charlie is frustrated with the current state of national government but believes that people united in a common cause can get the change and never be defeated. He is running for Congress to present the people of Texas in a way that restores government for regular people and small businesses, protects the environment, and provides more opportunity for generations to come!
