Charlie Shields (Missouri)
Charlie Shields (b. July 25, 1959) is a former Republican member of the Missouri State Senate. He represented the 34th District from 2003 to 2011. Shields served as President Pro Tempore. He has previously served as Majority Floor Leader.
Shields earned his AA from Longview Community College in 1979. He went on to receive his B.S. in marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1981. He then earned his M.B.A. in 1983.
Shields was a Retail Manager from 1983 to 1990. He then worked in Real Estate Management and Sales from 1990 to 1993. He is a former Healthcare Project Coordinator since then.
Shields was President of the Mid-Buchanan R-V Board of Education from 1990 to 1991. He served in the Missouri State House of Representatives from 1990 to 2002. From 1996 to 2002, he was House Minority Whip. He was also on the Board of the Mid-Buchanan R-V Board of Education from 1987 to 2004. He joined the Missouri State Senate in 2002 and has served in that position since.
Shields and his wife, Brenda, have two children.

Due to term limits, Shields was ineligible to run for re-election to the 34th District seat in 2010.[1]
2006
On November 7, 2006, Shields won re-election to the 34th District Seat in the Missouri State Senate, defeating David Mason (D).[2]

On November 5, 2002, Shields won election to the 34th District Seat in the Missouri State Senate, defeating opponents Glenda Kelly (D) and Eric Pendell (I).[3]
