Charlotte Mitchell
Charlotte Mitchell was a member of the North Carolina Utilities Commission. Mitchell assumed office on July 1, 2017. Mitchell left office on January 28, 2025.
Biography
Mitchell was born in Houston, Texas. She moved to North Carolina to study at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she received a bachelor's degree in anthropology and romance languages and later a J.D. During her legal studies, she served as publication editor of the North Carolina Law Review.[1]
Prior to joining the commission, Mitchell worked in private practice.[1]

Mitchell has served on the North Carolina Utilities Commission since 2017.[1] She was appointed by the governor as chair of the commission on June 4, 2019, for a two-year term.[2]
