|I grew up on our family farm in Lincoln County, one where a focus on generosity and community instilled in me the Tennessee volunteer spirit.
I met my wife Heather in high school. After graduating, we both headed to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. A college degree and wedding later, we moved back home and I joined a tech company named Basecamp. We bought a house and soon welcomed to the world our two wonderful kids - Elliott and Margot.
My story is the story of Tennessee - just a volunteer looking to make Tennessee work better for everyone.- I'll work to expand Medicaid and bring our $3.8 million per day in federal funding home to Tennesseans. We'll use this money to help rural hospitals stay open and ready to help our rural communities.
- I'll make high-speed Internet in rural communities a priority. We'll use federal and state funding to ensure that you have fast, reliable, and affordable Internet access no matter where you live in Tennessee. This access brings with it good paying remote jobs, opportunities for people to start a small business from their home, and educational resources for our teachers and students.
- I'll invest more funding and resources in our public schools. That means more money for teacher salaries, classroom supplies, and educational programs. It's time we listen closely to teachers, trust their expertise, and give them the tools they need to set our students up for success in life.
There's so much potential in our rural communities waiting to be unleashed. That's why I'm focused on rural healthcare, Internet access, and public schools. Better jobs, better schools, better healthcare - these are the things we all need so that small towns like ours can not only survive, but thrive.
