Four seats on the Cherokee County School District school board in Georgia were up for general election on November 6, 2018. A primary election was possible on May 22, 2018. Georgia held runoff elections on December 4, 2018, for school board races across the state where no candidate received a majority of the vote in the general election.

All four incumbents up for re-election sought additional terms. District 3 incumbent John Arlen Harmon (R) and District 5 incumbent Clark Menard (R) ran unopposed. District 4 incumbent Robert Rechsteiner (R) defeated Donna Kosicki (R) in the Republican primary. Candidate Scott Phillips (R) filed to challenge District 6 incumbent Mike Chapman (R) in the Republican primary, but withdrew from the election. All four seats were unconstested in the general election.[2][3]

The Cherokee County School District is located in Georgia. The district was the ninth-largest school district in the state in the 2014–2015 school year and served 40,666 students.[4]

In 2012, Mitt Romney (R) won 116 out of 180 state House districts in Georgia with an average margin of victory of 36.6 points. In 2016, Donald Trump (R) won 106 out of 180 state House districts in Georgia with an average margin of victory of 36.8 points. Trump won four districts controlled by Democrats heading into the 2018 elections.
