Roberts ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 107. She defeated Keith A. Hammond in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2012. Roberts also defeated Brenda J. Mahar in the Working Families Party primary. She was defeated by incumbent Steven McLaughlin in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2][3]
