Education
Johnston earned her undergraduate degree from Rice University in 1977 and her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1981.[2]
Career
Prior to her election to the bench, Johnston was a trial lawyer with 30 years of experience. She previously served as a deputy district attorney for the Thirteenth Judicial District and Second Judicial District.[2]
