Cheryl Johnson
Cheryl Johnson was a judge on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. She was elected to this position on November 3, 1998, and was re-elected in 2004 and 2010.[1][2] Johnson did not seek re-election to the Court in 2016.[3] Her final term ended on December 31, 2016.
Education
Johnson received her B.S. in chemistry from Ohio State University in 1968, her M.S. in inorganic crystallography from the University of Illinois in 1970, and her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in 1983.[2]
Career
From 1983 to 1984, she clerked for Judge Samuel Johnson of the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. She was in private practice in Austin, Texas from 1984 until 1998.[2]

Johnson defeated Dave Howard in the general election, winning 82.9 percent of the vote.[4]
