The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Cheryl Stransky was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Vito Barbieri defeated Fritz Wiedenhoff in the Republican primary. Stransky was defeated by Barbieri in the general election.[2][3][4]
