Chevy Fleischman Weiss was born in Israel but grew up in Baltimore, Md. She attended Notre Dame of Maryland University from 1991 to 1993, and worked as communications director for the Maryland Republican Party while she was studying there.[1]
After receiving a B.A. in history, Fleischman Weiss received an MPA in public administration from the University of Baltimore as well as a Ph.D. in political science from LaSalle University. After graduating, she worked as a political consultant in Washington, D.C.[1][3]
In 1998, Fleischman Weiss moved to Israel and founded Global Visions Israel, a public relations company also known as GVI Media. She served as CEO of the organization from 2004 until 2010, and did long-distance political consulting for U.S. clients.[1][3]
She became east coast regional director of The Israel Project (TIP) in August 2010.[1] According to its website, TIP “is a non-partisan American educational organization dedicated to informing the media and public conversation about Israel and the Middle East.” [4] That same year, she advised Herb McMillan during his Maryland House of Delegates campaign.[2][5]
In March 2011, Fleischman Weiss became a strategist and consultant for Blueprint Maryland, a 501(c)(4) organization that aims to research and provide solutions for job creation in the state of Maryland.[6][7] She worked on Robert Hodge’s county commissioner campaign in Cecil County, Md., a year later.[8]
Fleischman Weiss entered the political sphere as a candidate when she ran for the Baltimore City Republican Central Committee’s Coucilmanic District 005 in 2014. As of December 15, Fleischman Weiss contributes to The Times of Israel and is a member of The Aris Institute. She still does political consulting and is also a steering committee member for the Maryland state chapter of Fix the Debt.[12][13][14]
