Chiaka Ihekwaba
Chiaka Ihekwaba is a judge of the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida. She assumed office in 2020. Her current term ends on January 2, 2029.
Ihekwaba won re-election for judge of the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida outright in the general election on November 8, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.
She was appointed to the county court by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on June 24, 2020, to replace Lody Jean.[1]
Education
Ihekwaba received a barrister-at-law degree from the Nigerian Law School, an LL.M. from King’s College in London, and a J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law.[1]
Career
At the time of her appointment, Ihekwaba had served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Florida 11th Circuit Court since 2001.[1]
