Chief Justice Brown gets new job on Municipal Court
December 31, 2010
Ohio: Eric Brown, the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court since May of 2010, has now been appointed to a new job on the Franklin County Municipal Court. This appointment was made by Gov. Strickland on December 30th, following Brown's failed re-election attempt in the November general election. Although another seat on the Supreme Court was available, Brown chose not to apply for the position, explaining that he didn't want to put his family through so many statewide elections. He will replace Judge Julia L. Dorrian, effective January 2, 2011. He said, "I look forward to getting back to dealing directly with people and cases that are very important to them. I've always enjoyed that." He has prior experience as a judge on the probate and common pleas courts of Franklin County.[1]
