After much prayer and discernment, my wife and I know that it is time for me to run for our Illinois State Senate Seat due to Tom Bennett’s retirement. I am so excited and optimistic about our future!

I will use my 30 years of Caterpillar experience, coupled with concrete results, as Grundy County Board Chairman, and turn this state around. We did it in Grundy County and I’ll do it in Springfield.

The difference between myself and the other 3 candidates is the reality that I have demonstrated results. I answered the call from the Grundy County residents and drove solutions as the board chairman.

As a result, our board flipped from a 12 to 6 Democratic majority to a 17 to 1 Republican majority.

We produced results by exposing the truth and the voters responded. This was done by standing firm, respecting every member and building an executable plan – all while not giving an inch on principle.

  • Push Cost of Living Improvements – I led 4 straight years of county property tax reductions despite a torrent of unfunded Springfield mandates.
  • Oppose ALL Illegal Immigration – I only support the legal path for immigrants. We made Grundy County a Non-Sanctuary county and I will push this in Springfield.
  • Fervently Support our 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms – I put a gun rights question on the Grundy County ballot and it passed overwhelmingly!
1) Lowering the cost of living for residents

2) Closing the border to stop illegal immigration
3) Supporting our 2nd Amendment Rights

4) Standing for the unborn
Integrity, Servant minded. Focusing on the best interests of others.
I will put the United States Constitution first in all that I do and say. I will work hard to get the state of Illinois' financial house in order. I will take care of my constituents to ensure that they have everything the need from the state government.
Integrity, selflessness; goal of helping others
The governor and state legislature need to get along very well and work for the best interests of the people.
I am interested in getting elected as the Illinois State Senator representing the 53rd District.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Illinois

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
