Biography

Chris Baum was born in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1987. Baum earned a bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1967 and a graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979. His career experience includes working as an information systems administrator, a supply officer in the U.S. Navy, a small business owner, and a computer consultant. Baum has been affiliated with the Calvary Church of Broomfield.[1]

Brief intro: Retired US Navy, small business owner, computer network administrator. Fed up with two party dominance. Long story: Born Washington DC, came to Colorado in 2009. Master's degree in Government Administration, University of Pennsylvania. Twenty years US Navy, 10 years interior decorating shop owner, 10 years network administrator NM Bar Association. Married, three grown kids. Seeking to give the voter more opportunities rather than the lesser of two evils. Politics: free market, limited government advocate. Twice served as political campaign manager, past secretary of neighborhood association, past president of 230 member Kiwanis club.
  • Voting system needs to change to facilitate third party candidates

I look up to Jesus Christ. I wish to follow the example of St Paul who gave us a guidebook which is still valid 2000 years later.
Seeking our and listening to constituents views. Prioritizing government actions based on my findings. Insuring government actions are consistent with our constitutions and charters.
Smoother less intrusive government

The legislature should set policy based on the wishes of their constituents. The governor should execute and enforce the legislature's policies. The governor should act as a check on the legislature when he believes they are off course.
Lowering the cost of government by reducing taxes, reducing government overreach, insuring election integrity.
While unicameral legislatures may be more efficient and work more quickly, they are less representative of the people's will and do not have the checks and balances of a bicameral law making body.
Yes. They experienced legislators will be more capable of getting things done. But, they will be more susceptible to inappropriate influences and traditional thinking rather than new ideas.
Yes. Interchange of ideas benefits everyone. Relationships make compromise easier to achieve and passage of legislation faster.
Geographic and population study.
From Jay Leno: The Washington Bullets basketball team is changing its name because it is viewed as connected with violence. From now on the team will be known as just the Bullets.
