2012 election
Bevans was defeated by Jay McAlpin in the November 6th election. He did not appear on the ballot and campaigned as a write-in.[2][3]

Delay in results
The results for the write-in race for the 2nd Judicial District, Position 7 were not released until November 20th.[4][5] The votes were hand-counted and talliers did not begin counting until the 13th.[6][7][3]
