Campaign website
Blair's campaign website stated the following:
Building Magnolia the Right Way
Magnolia is growing — and growth brings opportunity. But if we don’t manage it responsibly, we risk losing the very character and quality of life that make our city special.
I’m running for Mayor to ensure Magnolia grows wisely, protects its history, and invests in the infrastructure our families depend on every day.
Managing Rapid Development Responsibly
Magnolia is expanding quickly. Growth is not the problem — unmanaged growth is.
We must:
- Require responsible planning before approving major developments
- Ensure roads, drainage, and utilities are ready before new construction begins
- Protect neighborhoods from overcrowding and congestion
- Support smart zoning that balances residential, retail, and green space
- Preserve the small-town feel that makes Magnolia unique
Goal: Growth that strengthens Magnolia — not strains it.
Fixing Water Drainage & Flood Prevention
Heavy rains shouldn’t mean flooded streets and yards.
We need proactive solutions:
- Upgrade and expand stormwater drainage systems
- Maintain ditches and culverts consistently
- Require new developments to meet stronger drainage standards
- Work with county and state partners on flood mitigation
- Identify high-risk areas and prioritize improvements
Goal: Protect homes, roads, and businesses from preventable flooding.
Securing Reliable Fresh Water
Water is not optional — it’s essential.
As Magnolia grows, we must ensure:
- Long-term water supply planning
- Investment in updated water infrastructure
- Responsible groundwater management
- Transparent communication about water capacity and future needs
- Partnerships that secure sustainable sources
Goal: Safe, reliable water for every household — today and for future generations.
Infrastructure That Keeps Up With Growth
Our roads, utilities, and public systems must keep pace with development.
We must:
- Prioritize road repairs and expansions
- Improve traffic flow at major intersections
- Plan infrastructure upgrades before approving large projects
- Seek grants and outside funding to reduce the tax burden
- Create a long-term infrastructure master plan
Goal: A city that functions smoothly — not one constantly playing catch-up.
Strengthening Code Enforcement
Rules only matter if they’re enforced fairly and consistently.
We will:
- Ensure development follows approved plans
- Hold builders accountable to city standards
- Address neglected properties and safety hazards
- Improve response times for complaints
- Enforce ordinances evenly across the city
Goal: Protect property values, safety, and neighborhood integrity.
Preserving the Historical Character of Magnolia
Growth should never erase our history.
Magnolia’s charm, heritage, and small-town identity are worth protecting.
We will:
- Preserve historic landmarks and districts
- Encourage development that complements Magnolia’s character
- Support local businesses that reflect our community roots
- Promote heritage tourism and community events
- Ensure future planning honors our past
Goal: Keep Magnolia recognizable, rooted, and proud of its heritage.
A Clear Vision for Magnolia’s Future
Magnolia deserves leadership that plans ahead — not reacts after problems arise.
We can welcome growth, protect our neighborhoods, and preserve our history — all at the same time.
With responsible leadership and smart planning, Magnolia’s best days are still ahead.
