Campaign issues

Below are several issues highlighted on Field's campaign website.

  • Social Security

Excerpt: "Adopt the “Chilean Model” for Social Security, which creates individual social security accounts. We can end the days of politicians using our own hard-earned money to bribe and scare us."[6]

  • Medicare

Excerpt: "Create a more competitive environment for Medicare: In order for Medicare to be sustainable, we must have tort reform, the ability to buy health insurance across state lines, thus increasing competition. Medicare, along with other entitlement programs, must be means tested."[7]

  • Taxes

Excerpt: "I agree with many Americans that the tax code must be simplified. Switch to a Territorial Tax System- Punishing corporations who do business overseas hurts Americans who are looking for work."[8]

  • Healthcare

Excerpt: "I believe we should commit ourselves to a goal of detaching healthcare insurance from the workplace. Like many other forms of insurance it should be purchased separately. This will ensure that coverage is constant and that people aren’t staying in careers that they don’t want due solely to the health insurance benefits received."[9]

  • Energy

Excerpt: "Energy sector jobs are good paying jobs! We must truly adopt an all of the above strategy. The next Congress must move to ensure we are developing our own North American energy resources in a manner that is safe for our environment and our children. North America has an estimated 150 to 200 years of energy reserves."[10]

  • Israel

Excerpt: "America must stand firm and support its true ally in the Middle East."[11]

  • Pro – Life

Excerpt: "I believe no matter what the circumstance the unborn should not be punished."[12]
