  • Education: It’s no secret – every day, we send our children to schools that are inadequately funded. As Millwood School Board President, I advocated time and time again to our lawmakers, pushing for more focus on our schools and funding in our classrooms. Educating a child is never one-size fits all, and we must find commonsense solutions to our education crisis and truly be committed to making an investment in our children’s futures. Politics and bureaucracy must not overshadow the importance of educating our children, and I will be a passionate advocate for providing the best resources possible.
  • Jobs: Too many of our friends and neighbors are struggling to find quality jobs and make ends meet. We have to do something about unemployment and poverty in our community. As an entrepreneur, I understand the difficulties that come with starting a small business. I believe that Oklahoma can make starting a business easier and offer more support for innovative industries. I will be a strong voice for smart investments that create jobs and develop our local economy. I will also advocate for working families that need a hand up. Nobody who works full time should live in poverty, and one way we can help them is by raising the minimum wage.
  • Health and wellness: Oklahoma consistently ranks as one of the unhealthiest in the nation. While the current leadership in the Legislature rejected Federal funding for increased healthcare, I believe we need to look at all options, including expanding the Affordable Healthcare Act, Insure Oklahoma, and other programs that will ensure Oklahomans have access to healthcare providers. I never want a family to be sick because the cost of healthcare is too high and I will work at the State Capitol to ensure that all Oklahomans have access to the healthcare they deserve.
  • Public safety: Safe neighborhoods are a real concern in Northeast Oklahoma City. Our law enforcement is in crisis –Oklahoma’s overcrowded and underfunded prisons make it harder for the justice system to keep us safe. Bipartisan reforms, like the Justice Reinvestment Initiative, have been allowed to languish. We need to take bold action to get smart-on-crime. Responsible sentencing reform will free up resources that law enforcement can use to tackle real problems in our community.
