|- With rents skyrocketing due to a shortage of housing, our neighbors are vulnerable to being priced out of their homes and communities as the city grows. As your representative, I will: Support the Make Colorado Affordable initiative, Aggressively pursue affordable housing opportunities, and support housing-first initiatives to address the rising rate of homelessness
- Climate Change is an existential threat that creates extreme temperatures, poor air quality, drought and wildfires, threatening our quality of life. This issue must be aggressively addressed without shifting the burden onto communities of color and lower-income individuals already saddled with a disproportionate share of air, soil, and water pollution. As your representative, I commit to aggressively pursuing proven solutions that can lower monthly costs for residents while moving the needle on reducing GHG emissions and improving our quality of life for all.
- Cities are for people, not just cars. If we are going to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in a meaningful way, then transportation has to be a part of that equation. My experience as the Director of Sustainability at the Auraria campus will ensure Denver meets its ambitious climate goals while connecting Southwest Denver to the rest of the city. I plan to utilize the robust federal, state and local resources available to implement improvements that ultimately improve our quality of life while securing a better future for the next generation.
