Chris Hoy
Chris Hoy was the Mayor of Salem in Oregon. He assumed office on November 2, 2022. He left office on January 13, 2025.
Hoy ran for re-election for Mayor of Salem in Oregon. He lost in the primary on May 21, 2024.
Hoy was appointed mayor of Salem on November 2, 2022, by the city council. He replaced Mayor Chuck Bennett who resigned early.[1] Hoy (Democratic Party) represented District 21 in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023. Hoy was appointed to the Oregon House of Representatives to replace former Rep. Brian Clem (D).
Biography
Chris Hoy earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Willamette University in 1987. Hoy's career experience includes working as an undersheriff with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. He has served as the vice chair of the Mid-Willamette Valley Homeless Alliance.[2]
