Chris J. Schultz
Chris J. Schultz was a judge of the Bernalillo Metropolitan Court in New Mexico. He was appointed by Governor Susana Martinez (R) on August 20, 2015, to replace Judge Kevin Fitzwater.[1]
He previously served on this court in 2014. Appointed by Gov. Martinez on August 22, 2014, Schultz was defeated in his bid for election to the court in November 2014, and stepped down from the court on December 31, 2014.[2][3]
He ran for election again in 2016 but was defeated.
Education
Schultz received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University and his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law.[2]
Career
Schultz was previously a deputy district attorney in the 2nd Judicial District Attorney's office. He was also a police officer in Albuquerque for 10 years.[2]
Elections
2016
New Mexico held general elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on June 7, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 8, 2016.[4] Christine Rodriguez defeated incumbent Chris J. Schultz in the Bernalillo Metropolitan Court general election for Division 2.[5]
