Chris Kolb
Chris Kolb was a member of the Jefferson County Public Schools in Kentucky, representing District 2. He assumed office in 2016. He left office on January 6, 2025.
Kolb ran for re-election to the Jefferson County Public Schools to represent District 2 in Kentucky. He did not appear on the ballot for the general election on November 5, 2024.
Kolb was the 2016 Democratic candidate for District 8 of the Louisville City Council in Kentucky. He was defeated in the primary election on May 17, 2016.
Biography
Kolb attended Atherton High School. He received a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Kentucky in 1998, an M.A. in anthropology—with a concentration in economic development—from George Washington University in 2002, and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Johns Hopkins University in 2009. His professional experience includes working as an urban anthropologist at Spalding University since 2009 and as an adjunct professor of anthropology at Eastern Kentucky University and Bluegrass Community and Technical College from 2008 to 2009.[1]

2016
Three of the seven seats on the Jefferson County Public Schools Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In District 2, Chris Kolb defeated incumbent David Jones Jr. and James Fletcher to win the seat. The incumbent in District 4 did not run for re-election leaving Benjamin Gies to win the seat after defeating Keisha Allen. District 7 incumbent Chris Brady defeated Fritz Hollenbach , S. Scott Majors, and James Sexton to win re-election to his seat.[2]
