My name is Chris Meadows and I'm running for NC House, District 57, which covers much of north and east Greensboro, NC. I am a Greensboro native and have been in the private sector for over 30 years, with the past 15 years focused in the financial services industry. I'm running because there is a lack of common sense present in politics today. It seems every politician goes to their respective corners and stays there, with no goal of compromising for the greater good. It's all special interests. We need to change that. My goal is to Find Common Ground Using Common Sense.
I'm interested in working on policies that continue the great economic growth NC has seen over the last 8 years. Lower taxes and regulations are two key components of expanding the economy for all.
Its important to realize that elected officials work for everyone, not just the people that voted for them. This is where there is a major void in politics. The attitude that "My side won and we make the rules" is a dangerous notion and generally always comes back to haunt the party that legislates that way. Because the other party will regain the majority at some point in the future.
My common sense, business, and results oriented background would serve the state well. Much better than professional politicians.
First job was working for the City of Greensboro at a local public tennis facility. I was 15 years old and had the job for about 2 and a half years before heading off to college.
The growing entitlement culture and lack of economic common sense so apparent in the Democratic Party.
Working to move the citizens of a state forward economically. Grow people out of poverty towards the middle class.
