Chris Sgro
Chris Sgro is a former Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 58 from 2016 to 2017. He was appointed to the chamber on April 9, 2016, by the Guilford County Democratic Party Executive Committee, replacing Ralph Johnson (D).[1] Gov. Pat McCrory (R) issued a proclamation on April 14, 2016, that officially appointed Sgro to the state House.[2]

Sgro has said his top priority will be repealing the law signed by McCrory that limits anti-discrimination protections for lesbian, gay and transgender people. Republicans have framed the legislation as a safety issue that will ensure people use the bathroom aligned with their biological sex.[3] |
