Expand all | Collapse all

I have been a trial lawyer for 38 years with a practice handling complex civil litigation. I am the only candidate in race found "highly qualified" by Chicago Bar Association and recommended or qualified by all other rating bar associations. The Chicago Tribune endorsed my candidacy over my opponents. My acts of service and other community activities outlined in www.staceyforjudge.com show a well-rounded life, and one committed to justice, diversity and equal justice for all, including the following: I spent 18 years on the board of Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic providing access to justice for the most marginalized members of our community. I spent a decade on the advisory board and doing fieldwork for World Relief, International, helping refugees and asylum seekers find a better life in America. I travelled to Zambia Africa to help eye surgeons literally give sight to the blind, overseeing crowd control, record keeping, assisting in the operating room and comforting patients. I am committed to safe and healthy and was awarded Active Transportation Alliances Volunteer of the year Award in 2011. I am a songwriter, musician and improv comedy performer and with my wife of 38 years, raised four children in Chicago.
  • I will work hard to know the law, study all lawyer submissions, and be decisive. I will follow the law and not legislate from the trial bench.
  • I will respect everyone at all times in and out of the courtroom, both because it is right and because it will inspire confidence in the judiciary.
  • I will listen and understand the circumstances surrounding the case and temper all decisions with compassion and human decency.
