It has been an honor and a privilege serving the wonderful citizens of Salt Lake County the last three years as their Salt Lake County Assessor. I want the citizens to know that I take my responsibility and obligation to them very seriously. I believe that creating accurate, fair, equitable, and uniform assessments for every property is an important and critical function to all of us. I never want any taxpayer to pay the wrong amount of taxes because we valued their property incorrectly. Accurate, equitable, uniform, and fair valuations for all categories of property help ensure that the distribution of property values and ultimately property tax dollars are distributed more accurately among all property types in Salt Lake County. During the last three years, I have accomplished a lot as your Assessor and collectively we have made tremendous progress with the help of my wonderful staff. Although, I am never satisfied and there is important work still to be done. I will continue to work tirelessly every day to improve the office going forward. I would be grateful to have the opportunity to finish the job that I was elected to do. As Assessor, and with your continued support and vote, I will continue to strive every day to provide the highest level of quality and service to all the citizens and taxpayers of Salt Lake County.

Competency Integrity Proven Track Record Proven Leadership and Experience Qualified Public Servant Fiscally Responsible

My primary statutory responsibility is to value every property in Salt Lake County at fair market value as of January 1st of the given tax year for property tax purposes. Additionally, I am statutorily responsible to value every category of property equitably, accurately, uniformly, and fairly which ultimately leads to a fair distribution of valuations and eventually tax dollars.

The citizens deserve the highest level of service and nothing less. Public servants should always be held accountable and their processes should be clearly transparent to every citizen that they serve.
