As a 20-plus-year resident of Saugus and a parent, along with my wife Kelly, of two Saugus district alumni, I have developed a passion for our Saugus schools to succeed, thrive, and serve our community. Over the past eight years, I believe we have accomplished that.

Prior to joining the Governing Board, I served for many years on site councils and PTA executive boards and earned the California State PTA Honorary Service Award. Since joining the board, I have earned CSBA's (California School Boards Association) Masters in Governance and become a CSBA Delegate Assembly Member representing multiple districts at the state level.

In my professional life, I am a finance executive in the film and television industry with over 30 years of private sector experience.

Our accomplishments in academic achievement, new buildings and facility upgrades, and responsible fiscal governance are recognizable and exceptional

I ask for your continued support to continue the amazing work happening in the Saugus Union School District.

Thank you.
During my eight years as a Governing Board Member for the Saugus Union School District, I have advocated for:

1. More state funding for education. California ranks 41st in per-pupil funding in the US.
2. An increase in special education funding from the federal government. The IDEA act requires a minimum level of services that must be provided to special education students and does not come with the funding needed to provide those services. School districts are providing these services but are having to divert funding from other sources.
3. Through CSBA, I have advocated directly with state officials on other, less substantial issues, with great success such as transportation and Covid relief.

On a local level, I have been an advocate for safety and security. The improvements that have been made during my years in office are tremendous; single point of entry, centralized electronic door locks, RAPTOR visitor management system, updated bullying, and civility policies, and district-wide implementation of PBIS.
