Two of the seven seats on the Southwest Independent School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on May 7, 2016. Incumbents Ida Sudolcan and Sylvester Vasquez Jr. defeated challengers Phillip Vargas and Chris Villarreal to win additional terms on the board.[1][2]
