Campaign themes

2016

Wallace's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Economy: It is important that we continue Ohio’s comeback and work to create jobs and economic opportunity for all Ohioans. As your state representative, I will work to cut personal income taxes so we can reduce the tax burden on middle-class families and put more money in their pockets. I also believe it is important to cut red tape and eliminate onerous regulations so Ohio can compete in the global economy.

Fiscal Responsibility: I take the task of reducing the size and cost of government very seriously. As your state representative, I will do more than slow the growth of the state budget – instead, I will go through it with a fine-tooth comb to identify real savings and ensure that state government is properly serving taxpayers.

Education: I want to empower teachers to provide students with a world-class education that prepares them to enter the workforce or pursue a college degree. I believe that local school boards should have a strong voice in developing education policy, as that is where parents can best make decisions for their children.

Agriculture: If elected, I will work closely with farmers to ensure the business climate enables Ohio agriculture to grow and compete in the global economy.

Drug Abuse: I am very concerned about the impact of illegal drugs on our communities. Too many people are dying from overdoses. If elected, I will work to continue outreach and education programs to reduce drug abuse and make sure those who are already addicted receive treatment. Additionally, I will give law enforcement the tools they need to stop the flow of illegal drugs into our communities.[2]
