Chris Walton is running to be our State Representative because our community needs a leader we can trust that will stand with the people. As the current Chair of the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County, Chris has a proven record of fighting for our progressive Democratic values and working to achieve justice for all Wisconsinites. We need Chris representing us in Madison to focus on advancing racial equity, creating more economic opportunity, making sure all children can get a quality education, and reducing the cost of quality healthcare.
  • We have to accept the Affordable Health Care Act in Wisconsin and create a public option with Badgercare.
  • We need to bring Economic Development and Revitalization to Midtown Center and our storefronts as we recover from this recession.
  • We must get our fair share of funding back from Madison to rebuild our Infrastructure in Milwaukee to fix our roads and lead laterals.
I'm passionate about rebuilding my community. I am passionate about creating the environment and opportunity that will create a strong more economic vibrant African American community. I am passionate about knocking down barriers that exist and normalizing that everyone no matter what they look like who who the love can serve the people if they are doing it for the right reason. We need dynamic leadership in the state of Wisconsin for the city of Milwaukee and I want to be that leader that can rally the city to stand up and make its voice heard.
There are so many amazing people I look up to and for guidance. Presidents Barack Obama and John F. Kennedy for inspiration. Local leaders like Martha Love here in Milwaukee.
Being a representative of the community that elected you and the communities that you represent. Always maintaining what is in the best interest of the people rather than your own.
That I came into this arena to get things done. That I achieved my goals and made life easier for the people I worked for and for those to come after me.
The first historical event I truly fully remember would be the terrorist attacks of September 11th. I was 12 at the time and headed to school when the reports first came across the radio.
Working for my library in college at Mississippi State University. It lasted two years.
Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. But that's what happens when you babysit my niece.
I believe getting our financial house in order without balancing out budgets on the backs of the poor and working classes will be our greatest challenge. Republicans will be focused on making cuts to services and programs that greatly benefit those communities and then will turn around and want to give away $100 as a tax credit.
Absolutely. Without relationships cooperation on the things are are big lifts will be impossible. You need a partner to work with especially as a newer member to help guide the rapids that come from working in politics.
I favor the Iowa model of independent redistricting. I would also support following Iowa's lead and moving Wisconsin to retention judicial elections rather than all out partisan brawls at the ballot box.
