The August 26, 2014, general election in Martin County featured three seats up for election. Jennifer Ann Doak, Christia Li Roberts and Loretta "Lorie" Shekailo were running to replace Michael Busha, who did not file for re-election in District 1. None of the three candidates received more than 50 percent of the vote in the general election. Christia Li Roberts and Loretta "Lorie" Shekailo, the top two vote-getters, advanced to the runoff election, which was held on November 4, 2014. Challenger Tina Maria McSoley defeated incumbent Maura Barry-Sorenson for the District 4 race, and incumbent Rebecca Jean Negron ran unopposed and won re-election.
