Campaign themes

2014

Bouthillette's campaign highlighted the following themes:[2]

  • Quality, Affordable Education
"We must deliver a world class education, that all Vermonters can afford. This is essential in creating opportunity for our youth and allowing people to pursue their dreams. Having experienced first hand the cost of education I know that this is an issue that can longer be ignored and I will work to fix our education system."
  • Support for our Veterans
"As both a member of the Vermont Army National Guard and the Governor’s Veterans Advisory Council I understand the difficulties our veterans face. From healthcare access to employment opportunities, Vermont consistently ranks low on how much we support our veterans. I have and will continue to advocate for Vermont to become the best place that our service members can come to for support and opportunity."
  • Invest in Vermont
"Our infrastructure, the foundation of our economy, has been struggling to remain viable for decades. Across all of Vermont we should invest in our roads, bridges and energy infrastructure. In order to attract good paying jobs and allowing Vermonters to pursue their goals we must start with repairing the building blocks of our economy."[2]
