- As an architect, I have dedicated my career to housing affordability. For an Arizona with housing stability, we need to refocus housing policy to protect current occupants and build new affordable housing. In addition, the population of people experiencing homelessness has skyrocketed, and it’s highly present in our district. Homelessness is a complex issue that is a cross-section and result of unaffordable housing; behavioral and mental health; substance use and abuse; cycles of poverty; cycles of criminalization; lack of access to critical services. I’m utilizing every policy, fiscal and community tool available to help keep folks in their homes and reduce homelessness.
- I’m a product of good public schools. Sadly, the programs that encouraged me to become an architect as a child are no longer active today. They were terminated along with many programs that support academic growth and services to students and families due to budget cuts in state funding. At the same time, Arizona offers the lowest teacher pay in the nation. I believe it’s time to invest in teachers and support staff with increased pay and prioritize funding for public education.
- As a cancer survivor, I have first hand experience seeing just how broken our healthcare system is. Medical emergencies, through no fault of the person, have the power to put folks in a lifetime of debt. Living in the richest country in the world, this is unacceptable. Every person should have access to quality healthcare because it is an essential right.

State legislative tenure
Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
