I am a daughter of good parents, a devoted wife, and I am a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a self-proclaimed constitutionalist, I am proud to be an American citizen, and I am deeply grateful to have been born in the U.S.
- School curriculum should be focused on academics to prepare children to be competent and confident contributors to society.
- School campuses should be a safe place for children to explore their unique talents and to challenge their intellect.
- Fiscal accountability is paramount for a secure foundation for children to have access to technology, curricula, and shared knowledge for their academic needs.
Safe-guarding the rights of the future children of America.
The United States Constitution.
Integrity, & self-less service for those who you've been elected to serve.
Do what you've been elected to do. Stick to the scope of your responsibilities.
The 1989 earthquake in Northern California. We lived close enough to the epicenter for us to feel the quake significantly. We were preparing to watch the battle of the bay World Series. Our TV fell on my grandfather, and thankfully he had only a minor injury. People lost their lives during this earthquake. We were very fortunate. We experienced a number of earthquakes and aftershocks, but the aftershocks that continued after this earthquake motivated my parents to move us to Virginia where we experienced our first (non-historical) tornado that same year!
Hire and monitor the leadership and management activities of the school superintendent.
Students, teachers, parents/guardians and community members.
Identifying common needs and what unites the community.
As a member of the broader community, I am standing up for the importance of our community's children's education. The quality of their education affects all peoples, and the future of the local community and society. I believe it is a common hope for future generations to be good, successful and productive members of society.
Good teaching includes having specialized skills and knowledge in subject areas, and the ability to teach said knowledge to children in a manner that is age and comprehension appropriate. Test scores compared to curriculum and testing methods is a good place to start to measure good teaching.
The schools within the district I am running for are Kindergarten through 8th grade. I think foundational academics need to be the focus in elementary and middle school. Apprentices and technical training seems more suited for high school children or maybe those who test out of their grade.
Review current spending activities. Assess for trends or patterns. Evaluate for potential areas for over, under, consistent, or non spending transactions.
For incidents that involve children on children, such as bullying, appropriate disciplinary actions that include parent/guardian notification and/or involvement. For proactive, macro-safety approaches, I believe in having dedicated armed police or the equivalent on site, daily.
There should be employee assistance programs for faculty and staff. They are adults and need to take care of their mental health as they would their physical health, which includes obtaining professional help when needed. Parents are over the care of mental health care (and medical needs) for their children. The school can provide resources to parents, if parents do not know what resources are out there to obtain mental health care options for children.
I want to make sure that biological boys and biological girls are respected as such. I want to ensure only biological boys use boy bathrooms and biological girls use girl bathrooms.
Safe, free from distractions, structured, and teachers who focus on the academic success of the children they teach.
I would vote to not mandate school lockdowns or masks. If a child is sick they stay home. Surgical masks are not made to prevent the spread of disease or viruses.
I can start by listening to them.
Typical recruitment practices. Hire qualified candidates. Ensure screening processes are in alignment with applicable laws.
Financial transparency is key focus of this campaign. Our taxpayers fund public schools' operations, and I believe they have a right to know how their money is being spent. The American citizen is the greatest power for government accountability through the election process.
