Four seats on the Fresno Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. In the Trustee Area 1 race, incumbent Cal Johnson faced three challengers, Debbie J. Darden, Christiansen L. Flemming and Charles Watkins "Muhammad", and won his bid for re-election. Trustee Area 3 incumbent Valerie Florentino Davis ran against one challenger, Esmeralda Diaz. Davis also won her bid for re-election. In Trustee Area 4, incumbent Christopher de la Cerda ran unopposed and won re-election by default. No incumbents filed to run for the Trustee Area 7 seat, leaving the race to candidates Brooke Ashjian and Ruben V. Martinez. Ashjian defeated Martinez to win a seat on the board.

Funding

Flemming filed Form 470 with the Fresno County Registrar of Voters, indicating he did not intend to raise or spend more than $1,000 for his 2014 campaign. Because of this, Flemming did not have to file any additional campaign finance reports.[3]
