I graduated from the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. I worked as a Production Assistant for NBC’s TODAY Show and then on the Assignment Desk at Fox News Channel in Washington, DC, where I got her first real taste of the political world. However, I decided that instead of just writing about change, I wanted to be a part of that change. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law and began my career as a prosecutor.

My journey in public service began in Camden, where I distinguished myself by handling a wide range of cases, from minor offenses to serious felonies, including murders. My relentless pursuit of justice earned me the respect of colleagues and community members alike.

I continued my prosecution career at the Attorney General’s Office in the State Grand Jury division. Most recently, I was at the forefront of prosecuting large-scale drug trafficking cases with ties to Mexican drug cartels. Through my efforts, criminal networks have been dismantled, shielding South Carolina from the devastating effects of drug trafficking and addiction.
  • Illegal Immigration - As the daughter of an immigrant, I value the journey my family undertook for a better life. However, illegal immigration undermines legal pathways, risking lives and perpetuating crime and exploitation. It strains our state's resources and diminishes opportunities for our citizens and for legal immigrants. South Carolina may not be on the border, but it is a border state. By addressing illegal immigration, we can uphold the integrity of the immigration system and honor the sacrifices of those who navigate the process legally.
  • Crime - As a prosecutor, I have witnessed the devastating effects of crime on individuals and communities. Addressing crime is paramount to safeguarding public safety and upholding justice in our state. By combating crime, we protect the vulnerable, promote accountability, and restore faith in the legal system. Continued legislation addressing crime is essential for maintaining order, fostering trust, and creating a safer society where everyone can thrive.
  • Jobs & Education - Investing in vocational and trade schools will foster a skilled workforce tailored to industry needs. Practical training enhances job readiness, reducing skill gaps and unemployment. Industries benefit from a steady supply of competent professionals, which boosts productivity and innovation. Overall, vocational and trade education cultivates a thriving economy by aligning education with real-world demands, empowering individuals for meaningful careers while sustaining industry growth.
I will always be passionate about law and order. I am running for State Senate to bring my unwavering commitment to justice and community service to District 35. I am driven by a deep sense of duty and a desire to make a positive impact, and I am committed to addressing the pressing issues facing our district and state.
My mother is the biggest inspiration in my life. My mother is an immigrant. She was born in Portugal and her family moved to the US when she was 4 years old. Her family emigrated to this country legally, the way it is supposed to be done. My grandmother, a tireless worker, cleaned houses so her family could make ends meet. Even at a young age, my mother stood by her side helping her clean, eager to contribute. My mother’s earnings were carefully saved to fulfill her dream of higher education.

Despite language barriers and cultural challenges, my mother excelled in school. Her perseverance and hard work led her to become the first in her family to earn a college degree. But she didn't stop there. With unwavering determination, she earned a master's and worked towards a doctorate, breaking barriers and setting new standards for her family.

My family’s journey is a testament to the American Dream—a dream realized through hard work, resilience, and unwavering faith. As I reflect on their sacrifices, I know that their struggles paved the way for my opportunities. My mother has instilled in me a passion for public service and a deep appreciation for the values of this nation.

I owe everything that I am, and everything I have accomplished, to the strength and resilience of my mom.
I believe that state senators should prioritize conservative values, fiscal responsibility, constitutional rights, law and order, state sovereignty, constituent representation, and collaborative governance. As public servants, state senators should serve constituents effectively and uphold the principles of limited government, individual freedoms, and economic prosperity.
I see the influx of people moving to South Carolina as an opportunity for growth, but I also recognize the challenges it brings. To keep up with this growth, we must prioritize infrastructure development, job creation, and promote legislative changes that foster economic prosperity. We need a new generation of leadership in the Senate that is focused on proactive solutions to accommodate the increasing population, while at the same time preserving our conservative values of limited government and individual freedoms.

Another challenge South Carolina is facing is an influx of illegal immigrants. Even though South Carolina is not on the border, it is a border state because illegal immigration exacerbates drug trafficking in the state. We must address this issue by enhancing law enforcement efforts, cracking down on drug-related crimes, and implementing policies to curb illicit activities. We need to focus on safeguarding our communities and preserving the American Dream for future generations.
I am interested in serving on the Judiciary, Corrections and Penology, Legislative Oversight, and Family and Veterans' Services committees.
