- I am a seasoned trial attorney with years of hands-on experience practicing before district courts, particularly in high-conflict family law cases involving children, custody, and complex evidentiary issues. As a result, I understand that district courts handle a broad docket, and effective judges must be organized, decisive, and committed to timely case resolution while safeguarding due process. To ensure justice is served in Hunt County, I am committed to upholding the law impartially, treating all litigants with respect, and ensuring the courtroom remains a place where the law as written guides every decision.
- Prove in the courtroom. Prepared for the bench. Being proven in the courtroom means understanding not just legal theory, but real-world litigation, evidentiary challenges, and the human impact of judicial decisions. I am proven in this very courtroom, having served 100s of families and clients in Hunt County. I am prepared for the bench because I value fairness, efficiency, and professionalism, and I am committed to ensuring every case is heard and decided according to the law.
- My judicial philosophy is grounded in impartiality, preparation, and strict adherence to the law. A judge’s role is not to advocate, legislate, or advance personal beliefs from the bench. A judge must apply the law as written and ensure a fair process for every litigant. I believe effective judges are well-prepared, patient listeners, and decisive when the law requires it. Every person who enters the courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and every case deserves thoughtful consideration based on the facts and the law. I am committed to maintaining a professional courtroom that promotes confidence in the judicial system and the fair administration of justice.
In addition to my work as a trial attorney, I have served as a court-appointed amicus attorney, an experience that requires independent and careful fact-finding with a child-focused, neutral approach to the law. That role strengthened my ability to evaluate evidence objectively, listen to all sides, and make recommendations grounded in the law and the best interests of the child. These skills will directly translate to the bench.
Equally important for someone elected to this office is fostering professionalism and respect within the courtroom, treating all parties with dignity, and ensuring proceedings are conducted in a manner that promotes public confidence in the judicial system. A district court judge must administer the court responsibly, moving cases forward in a timely manner while safeguarding the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
