Christine Bachmeyer Phillips is a former judge on the First Judicial District in Colorado. She was appointed to the court by Governor Bill Ritter in August 2009.[1] Bachmeyer Phillips retired in November 2020.[2]

Education

Bachmeyer Phillips received her undergraduate degree from California State University at Fresno in 1980, and her J.D. from the University of Colorado in 1989.[1]

  • 1993-2009: Chief Deputy District Attorney, First Judicial District
  • 1989-1993: Attorney, Weller, Friedrich, Ward and Andrew[1]

Elections

2012

Phillips was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 71.29 percent of the vote.[3]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Colorado Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[4]


Judge Phillips was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [5]
