An effort to recall Council member Christine Boatwright in Parker, Arizona, from her position was launched in October 1, 2013 by Tiffany Dunlap.[1]
On August 20, Boatwright, Dunlap and Launa Wilson had a heated confrontation regarding Police Chief Rod Mendoza. The council placed Mendoza on paid leave pending investigations on that same day.[2]
Boatwright resigned on November 19, 2013 after recall supporters submitted 103 petition signatures. A recall election was not scheduled.[3]
Boatwright said that she did not want to put the council and town through the expense and stress of a recall election.[1]
She was first elected in 2005 and re-elected in 2009 and 2013.[1]
