Campaign themes

2015

Caplinger stated the following as her campaign themes on her website:

Dedicated/Proven Leader

Combining my professional and volunteer experiences, I am confident that I can continue to serve our community as a school board trustee. I have a sense of fairness and believe one must be a good listener to understand issues that will affect our students.

Fiscal Responsibility
Get the most out of our resources: Fiscal responsibility is not just about spending less; it is about getting more. We must promote innovation, identify best practices already in place, and spread both throughout the district.

Team Player
I possess the ability to work well with others and support group decisions, along with an understanding that the board sets a climate for the entire district.

Outcome Focused
A key issue for school boards is to create a long-term vision, mapping a course that provides the necessary opportunities for students.

Community Partner
I believe school board trustees must be responsive and receptive to parents, teachers, staff, students and the community at large, encouraging an open dialog.[2]
