I'm a deeply rooted Florida native, born and raised in Lee County, and I have been a Cape Coral resident almost my whole life. I was blessed to marry my best friend, David, who is a US Army Combat Veteran, in 2011; and for the last 10 years we’ve raised 3 beautiful daughters together (two in public school, and one homeschool). I'm running for School Board because I've been an advocate for children and families in Lee County for many years, and I'm passionate about where the future of my community is headed. I believe that in order to protect educational integrity, we must defend the rights of every parent, the safety of all students, the fair treatment of our educators, and the voice of our community; and that is exactly what I'm going to do.
  • Parents are the most qualified people when it comes to making decisions for their children; that's why protecting their rights is my number one priority.
  • When our educators are successful, our students are successful, and that is why I will fight for educators every day. I will advocate to increase their pay, improve their overall working conditions, and develop enhanced professional development opportunities for all of our education professionals.
  • The community deserves to know and understand why and how their tax dollars are being spent. Once elected, I will make sure that an easily accessible, line item budget is made publicly available; then, I will advocate for a zero based budget and a forensic audit by both an internal and external auditor.
I'm personally passionate about forms of public policy that secure and protect the rights of parents and children; including anything that pertains to maintaining the Liberty of parents to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their children including education, health, and mental care.
I look up to the Founders of our great nation. Great men and women like Thomas Paine, James Otis Jr., and John and Abigail Adams. It is because of their courage and great sacrifice (and that of others like them) that we are able to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
9/11... I was 16. I was taking a nap on the couch in my apartment, and I woke up from what I thought was a dream, only to discover that everything I thought I was dreaming about was actually happening, in real time, and I was hearing it on the radio in my sleep.
I got my first job when I was 14 years old when my best friend's mom hired me to work over the summer at the McDonalds on Fort Myers Beach (it's no longer there today).
School board members serve a dual role: To represent the concerns of the citizens, taxpayers and parents to the school administrators, and to represent the needs of the students and school district to the citizens, taxpayers and parents of the community. As well as setting the policies, goals and objectives for the district – and holding the superintendent responsible for implementing the policies and achieving the goals.
My constituents are the citizens, taxpayers, parents and students in my community.
